Verge Yoga was founded by Cara Bradley and opened in September 2004. She ran the program tirelessly for many years and built a reputation for quality, cutting-edge programs. The studio has always employed exceptional teachers who have built a strong community of fitness and friendship. The same front door still swings open every day, and many of the original students who started their yoga journey at Verge still come in on a regular basis. We've made a few changes in the past few years, but the commitment to our programs, and to our students, has remained the same.
I was raised by a single mother in Central PA who worked as a nurse at a local hospital. I always looked up to her as "the world's greatest helper," and she inspired me to pursue a career in helping others. Initially, I wanted to follow in her footsteps and become a nurse, but I soon realized that I could make a bigger impact on people's lives by helping them get and stay healthy and avoid injury through exercise.
After college, I began a successful career in corporate fitness. While I enjoyed leading all kinds of group fitness classes during this phase in my life, I was inspired to explore the comprehensive world of yoga after taking an inspirational class at a fitness convention. I fell in love with how yoga combined strength and flexibility in a single program, which was a new concept for me as a traditional athlete.
I was drawn to the concept of mindfulness training and the use of breath as a tool for stress management. Although yoga wasn't yet popular in the fitness community, I knew it was going to be big. From that moment on, I decided that I wanted to become part of the movement to bring yoga into the mainstream.
After years of private instruction, teaching yoga to everyone from boutique studios to college sports teams, I realized that I wanted to run a studio that would offer a variety of yoga classes (and more) accessible to every body,
every age, and every stage of life.
My husband Scott and I have raised four amazing children, and when our youngest went off to college, I realized that it was the right time to open up my own business.
I launched True North Fitness Consulting in the summer of 2021, and soon after that, I purchased the studio. I am honored to be stewarding the next phase of Verge Yoga, a community that I’ve long been a part of, and that continues to inspire me every day.
The first time this 50 year old ever stepped onto a yoga mat was at Verge in late 2021. I started with the Stability classes, but Flow Foundations quickly became my “go-to.” Flow Foundations is now the centerpiece of my physical exercise, and big part of my mindfulness practice. I hope to see you on your mat at Verge!

What I like about Verge yoga is the consistency and challenge of the classes. The friendly, welcoming and encouraging atmosphere at Verge makes it easy for me, a novice yoga student, to benefit from the classes. Having now taken Verge yoga Stability classes for 6 weeks, my stiffness is mostly gone, my flexibility is improving and I am getting stronger.

I came here 8 years ago as someone who had never done yoga before, and it is now a weekly part of my health regimen that I truly look forward to. Yoga healed my injury with much better results than physical therapy. It grounds me and makes me feel powerful! I hope something I’ve shared will encourage you to come try Verge.
